Claudia Dávila is an illustrator and author of graphic novels and children’s books. Throughout her career, Claudia has illustrated over 30 books, in English and French and translated to multiple languages. Claudia’s graphic novels Luz Sees the Light and Luz Makes a Splash, which won the 2012 Green Earth Book Award and 2013 Green Earth Prize for Sustainable Literature respectively, feature urban kids who deal with energy, climate and water issues locally. Her picture book Super Red Riding Hood, which was the 2016 Forest of Reading Blue Spruce Honour Book Winner, features a brave girl whose super power is friendship and empathy.

 

Born in Santiago, Chile, Claudia now makes her home in Toronto with her husband, artist Michael Cho, and their two children.
